FLYING MOJITO BROS & VINYL RANCH PRESENT:

COUNTRY DISCOTHEQUE MIXTAPE

There exists a dreamworld in which the ‘disco sucks’ movement never happened, shitkickin’ country and sleazy disco united as one, and the renowned real-life honky tonk from the Urban Cowboy movie morphed into ‘Gilley’s Country Discothèque’ – seventy thousand square feet of Texan Studio 54 and the hottest ticket in the whole damn South.

This rare 60-minute mixtape cassette from circa 1979–1983 contains a long-lost bootleg recording of Flying Mojito Bros, the celebrated resident DJs at that treasured venue.

Turn it loose to the likes of Travis Wammack in scratchy satin flares, Disco Dolly perfection, a Tennessee line-dancing outfit reworking Wacko Jacko and Hall’n’Oates with serious chops, June Carter Cash’s daughter doing stepdad Johnny and plenty more besides — each taking their turn on a snorting mechanical bull who’s taken a square-toed boot to his gigantic glistening disco balls.
